I can give a few more details of the family of my grandfather, William Enoch Flintham born 1887, which may be of interest to you.. He was a farmer and potato merchant in Billinghay where he was buried on 18 June 1971. He had one son, my father, Charles William Henry Flintham born at Decoy House on North Kyme Fen in 5/5/1919, who was also a potato merchant. He had two sons, myself Alan Flintham born in Lincoln on 25/9/1949 , and my brother Robert William Flintham born in Metheringham on 14/2/1953. We moved to Nottingham where my father was a fruit and vegetable wholesale merchant. He died on 4/10/1983 in Nottingham. My wife and I now live in Branston a village between Lincoln and Metheringham although we both were brought up in Nottingham. Although there are a number of Flinthams in this part of Lincolnshire I am not related directly to any of them . I am also a local government officer. Although I have little knowledge of my family history I do have my grandfather’s pocket watch inscribed “Blankney “Chorister” 1893” echoing the links with that area.
