Misc. Notes
Annie and Harry Thompson had a double wedding with Annie Thompson and Arthur Stanway. She was probably pregnant at the time ofher marriage. She "Lost" the child that would have been older than Harry. The child was still-born possibly slightly premature.
Annie had leg injuries that were caused by a boy known as Duncey who pushed her down some cellar steps. After the cellar incident she had callipers on her legs and had some sort of corrective operation at about aged 16. It was possible that Annie didn't go to school until she was eight because the family couldn't afford it and that when her father died or mother remarried there was more money available to the household however the reason for this is not really known. It was suggested that it was because she couldnt walk but it was more likely that the family couldnt afford for her to go.
When she did go to School she went to St Matthews and was taught by Miss Thornley.
She was in the same class as Maurice Mendelson who later sold handbags on Stockport Market.
