Kenneth Henry Flintham was born in Stockport Infirmary on 29th January 1934. He lived with his parents at 37 Langham Road, Off Didsbury Road, Heaton Mersey in a Council House.

The family then moved to 5 Merton Road, Cheadle Heath a rented house and then to 5 Hythe Road Cheadle Heath which was bought by his parents.

Ken lived for the first part of his married life with Dorothy at 7 Hurdsfield Road, Stepping Hill, Stockport Where Gordon was born. Carol was born in hospital but also lived at the address together with the family dog Judy.

The family moved to a brand new house in 1965 on a modern residential estate in Hazel Grove where Lynn was born.

In 1970 Ken and Dorothy were able to save enough to visit Canada with the children and stayed for a month during August of that year. Ken considered emigrating and he explored jobs and housing but the family decision was to stay in the UK.

Ken worked as an electrician worked at Lithopack (known locally as The Box Works) and at Woodford A.V. Roe which became Hawker Sidderly and British Aerospace. He was very proud of his work on aircraft like the Vulcan, and Nimrod and setting up the production lines at Warton for the Eurofighter.

Ken had a series of heart attacks when he was 57 and took an early retirement package. He recovered well and did his exercises every day. He enjoyed Cruises and trips to Canada and the USA with his wife Sheila.

He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease approximately 2011 and but on a brave face and a strong fight to remain independent until he could no longer fight the illness.
